Kazakhstan seeks new health care approaches
The country has seen a 2.5-time rise in the major chronical non-infectious illnesses largely attributing it to better diagnostics and the global spread of lifestyle-caused diseases. A new model of a guaranteed amount of free medical care and a package of medical care within the obligatory social health insurance system were developed, which, according to Healthcare Minister Yelzhan Birtanov, will be fully implemented by 2020.
