Volume of money transfers in January – August 2019 amounted to over KZT 408 bn
Using the money transfer systems (MTS) Kazakhstanis sent abroad more than 408 billion tenge, and received from abroad only 232 billion tenge, which, however, is 5.4% more than a year ago, Strategy2050.kz refers to Ranking.kz.
TOP-5 countries in terms of the volume of transfers sent from Kazakhstan and received from abroad includes three countries – Russia, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Russia leads in terms of the volumes sent abroad (134.5 billion tenge), and the volumes received from there (81.1 billion tenge). Uzbekistan ranks second in terms of money sent (88.5 billion tenge) and third in terms of money transfers received from there (17.3 billion tenge). Kyrgyzstan ranks fourth: the volume of money transfers sent from Kazakhstan to this country amounted to 52 billion tenge, received from there - 15.7 billion tenge.
In terms of the amount of money sent abroad, Turkey is in third place (55.1 billion tenge), and China is in fifth place (22.1 billion tenge).
In the five countries leading in the amount of money received from abroad, the Republic of Korea ranks second (38.3 billion tenge), the fifth - the United States (10.5 billion tenge).
Among the international money transfer systems, Zolotaya Korona is the leader in terms of annual growth in the volume of funds sent from Kazakhstan abroad: growth by 54.6 billion tenge (+ 22.6%), to 295.8 billion tenge.
MoneyGram ranks second: an increase of 1.9 billion tenge (+ 60.5%), up to 5.1 billion tenge. Contact also showed an increase in the volume - by 682.3 million tenge (+ 4.8%), to 14.9 billion tenge, and Blizko - by 5.7 million tenge (an increase of 5.2 times), to 7, 1 million tenge.
MoneyGram is the leader in terms of annual growth of money transfers received from abroad among MTS: by 12 billion tenge (+ 67.3%), to 29.9 billion tenge. Western Union is in second place: by 5.8 billion tenge (+ 11.8%), up to 55 billion tenge, in third - Faster: by 921.1 million tenge (+ 9.5%), up to 10.6 billion tenge. The fourth line is occupied by Blizko: by 113.6 million tenge (an increase of 2.6 times), up to 186.5 million tenge.
The most popular currency for January – August 2019 is the US dollar: in the amount of money sent abroad, the share of the dollar varied between 63.7–71%; in the amount received from abroad - 57.5–67.2%.
The specific weight of the Russian ruble in the volume of remittances sent from Kazakhstan amounted to 21.2–29.6%, and in the volume of remittances received from abroad - 19.7–27.2%.
The national currency accounts for 4.7–7.1% of remittances sent abroad, and 10.4–13.2% of funds received from abroad.
