US-Kazakhstan Congressional Caucus founded in Washington
An official reception celebrating the establishment of the U.S.-Kazakhstan Congressional Caucus has taken place today on Capitol Hill, the Kazakh Foreign Affairs Ministry informs.
The newly established U.S.-Kazakhstan Congressional Caucus is a bipartisan group co-chaired by Congressmen Steve Chabot, Gregory Meeks and Robert Aderholt. It is an important step towards further enhancing the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States as well as developing the inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries following the January 2018 official visit of First President of Kazakhstan – Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev to Washington, and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s September 2019 visit to New York.
Caucuses used to bring together supporters to achieve common political goals in the 18th century. There are democratic and republican caucuses that can be found in the legislative branch.
