Up to 170K medical face masks produced in Kazakhstan per day
The performance of Kazakhstan’s enterprises is 170 thousand face masks per day, Deputy Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Berik Kamaliyev said at a press briefing at the Government site, Strategy2050.kz correspondent reports.
“Each month, these enterprises produce 5 million masks. There is an opportunity to increase their number to 6.5 million. Therefore, together with the Healthcare Ministry, on behalf of the Prime Minister, we are engaged in providing. They have raw materials till the end of the year”, Kamaliyev said.
Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov noted that the full volume of masks in the country will be provided.
“Of course, in some pharmacies nowadays there are no face masks. We cannot guarantee. The first days there was a certain stir not only in Kazakhstan, but in many countries. Therefore, there was a certain deficit, of course. But today these issues are completely taken under state control. The full volume of face masks in Kazakhstan will be provided”, Tugzhanov commented.
He also informed that the government agencies, primarily the border and customs services, were given a specific order to ban the export of face masks from Kazakhstan. According to Deputy Prime Minister Tugzhanov, such attempts were from Kazakhstan to China, in the first place.
According to Minister of Healthcare Yelzhan Birtanov, first of all, face masks must be consistently in medical institutions.
“We’ve formed reserves for medical organizations to protect people. If you are sick, you must wear face masks to protect yourself, your loved ones, even if it is just a flu”, the Minister said.
