Turkistan International Airport to be opened in 2020
The international airport, located 16 kilometers from the city of Turkistan, is built by the Turkish company YDA Group, Strategy2050.kz has learnt from the press service of Turkistan region’s Governor.
Currently, 302 investor builders and 102 special vehicles are working at the construction site of Turkistan International Airport.
The airport will occupy a total area of 900 hectares. It is planned to build a terminal, runway and other facilities. It is expected that the international airport will be commissioned by the end of 2020.
According to YDA Group Director General Arslan Hussein, Turkistan International Airport is built using modern construction technologies and international standards. The terminal can serve about 3 million passengers a year.
It should be noted that the total length of the road to the international airport is 16.3 km. The airport should be fully completed by September 2020.
