Turkestan rgn adopts American technologies
Governor of Turkestan region Umirzak Shukeyev received Robert Gillen, head of the delegation of the American multinational company Valmont Industries, which is the largest manufacturer and distributor of mechanized irrigation machines in the world, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to the press service of the Governor of Turkestan region.
The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation in the application of high technologies for mechanized irrigation in the region. In particular, the conversation touched upon the introduction of sprinkler irrigation systems in Turkestan region, as well as the possibility of building a plant for the production of modern irrigation systems and managing crop yields. At the same time, investments in the project will amount to about $ 50 million.
During the meeting, the Governor of the region emphasized the importance of introducing modern technologies into agricultural production.
“Our region has created all conditions for investors. We are always open and ready for close cooperation, for the implementation of joint projects. We have a favorable climate for growing agricultural products. I am convinced that the use of the sprinkler irrigation system will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector”, Shukeyev said.
In turn, Robert Gillen noted that American irrigation technologies will increase crop production and reduce agricultural costs by 50%.

In addition, the delegation from the United States expressed its readiness to develop cooperation not only in agriculture, but also in the field of energy, transport, and the formation of the food belt.
Umirzak Shukeyev also emphasized the main advantages of the region for the implementation of potential projects by Valmont Industries, namely, the construction boom in the region, the need for new technologies in various fields and the possibility of their implementation, as well as plans of the Governor’s Office for scaling up projects for the introduction of sprinkler systems in the region.
Following the meeting, the Governor instructed to create a working group under the leadership of Deputy Governor of Turkestan region Meirzhan Myrzaliev to implement joint projects, including identifying a land plot with the necessary infrastructure to accommodate the production of sprinkler plants.
