Tokayev instructed to take emergency measures to reduce pandemia spread

Prime Minister Askar Mamin, Mayors and Governors of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Akmola, Aktobe, Zhambyl, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar regions reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the situation with coronavirus and socio-economic development of the regions, Strategy2050.kz reports referring to the press service of Akorda.

The Government and regional leaders have been given the task to take effective emergency measures to drastically reduce the spread of the pandemic, provide effective assistance to patients with coronavirus, expand the scale of testing of citizens, provide health workers with special protective equipment, medicines, mechanical ventilation devices and other necessary equipment.

According to the Head of State, the material and moral support of medical workers who guard the health of our citizens is of particular importance. The Government and Governors should actively work to clarify the critical importance of quarantine measures among citizens.

In addition, the President instructed the central and local executive authorities to take measures to prevent a recession in the economy, ensure the growth of industrial and agricultural production, and meet the social needs of citizens.
