State social spending increased by 26% in 2019 - research
For January – December 2019, state budget expenditures increased by 19.3% for the year and amounted to 13.5 trillion tenge. In the corresponding period of the previous year, state budget expenditures were equal to 11.3 trillion tenge, while there was a decrease of 9.1% per year, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to Finprom.kz.
The average annual growth in state budget spending over the past five years amounted to 12.6% per year. The largest increase over this period of time was observed in 2017 (+ 32.3% per year).
Most of the state budget expenditures are directed to social assistance and social security: 3.5 trillion tenge, or 25.6% of the total amount of expenditures.
2.3 trillion and 1.3 trillion tenge respectively were allocated for education and healthcare, in the total expenses increased by 16.1% per year.
The TOP 5 directions also include state budget expenditures on housing and communal services (913.7 billion tenge), as well as transport and communications (893.6 billion tenge).
The largest increase in state budget expenditures is observed in industry, architecture, urban planning and construction activities: from 35.9 billion to 69.6 billion tenge, plus 94% per year.
