Spring holidays to start 16 March in Kazakhstan
Spring holidays for Kazakhstan’s schoolchildren will begin on March 16, the Strategy2050.kz correspondent reports.
“Early holidays of secondary education organizations will start from March 16 to April 5, 2020. Starting March 16, facilities of vocational education and training and universities will transfer to distance learning”, Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov said during a press conference in the Central Communication Service.

From March 13, all public events will be banned. Compulsory disinfection of public transport is introduced.
Cinemas in shopping centers will be closed due to the threat of the spread of the virus.
“Cinemas in shopping centers will not work. Shopping centers will not be closed”, he said.
In addition, Kazakhstan will restrict international flights with countries of category A1, 1B, 2, and 3. A ban has been introduced on international sports and cultural events in countries of categories A1, 1B, 2, and 3.
In turn, Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Berik Kamaliyev spoke about the restrictions on air communications that will follow in Kazakhstan.
“There are no restrictions for transit passengers. With EU countries we have 25 flights per week. With England 4 flights per week. Lufthansa Airlines has made an independent decision to terminate flights with us. This is the decision of the airline until the end of April. Air Astana company: Nur-Sultan-Frankfurt had 5 flights per week, we leave 2 flights. We have Atyrau - Frankfurt, Uralsk - Frankfurt - reduced to 1 flight. Atyrau - Amsterdam was reduced from 4 to 1. Nur-Sultan - London from 4 to 2. Scat - Nur-Sultan-Prague is reduced from 2 to 1. For our citizens who want to return, they can fly by these flights”, Kamaliyev said.

Turkish airlines with 43 flights, Nur-Sultan - Istanbul from 13 to 6, Almaty – Istanbul from 17 to 7, regional flights are reduced to 1 flight per region. Nur Sultan - Dubai from 10 to 5, Nur-Sultan - Abu Dhabi from 2 to 1 flight.
