Solar power station established in Karaganda rgn
A 50 MW solar power station has been built in Karaganda region, Agadyr village. The project was implemented by investors from Solarnet Investment GmbH with the support of KAZAKH INVEST National Company JSC. The sum of investment amounted to 15 billion tenge. The station will annually generate about 70 million kWh of electricity, Strategy2050.kz reports.
“The village of Agadyr is an ideal place for the implementation of this project. In addition to the location, the climate is suitable, which will allow 1400 hours to work at full capacity from 8760 hours a year without a break”, Yevgeny Grebennikov, General Director of KazSolar50, a Kazakhstan project partner, said.
This project included the construction of a solar park with an area of about 130 ha, substations for 220 kW and a high-voltage line for 220 kW. At the same time, 30 new permanent jobs were created on the project.
“Leader of the Nation, Nursultan Nazarbayev, set the task to increase the share of alternative energy to 30% by 2030. We, as a company working on behalf of the Government with investors, welcome and strongly support the desire of our foreign partners to invest in “green technologies” and renewable energy sources”, Timur Tilinin, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KAZAKH INVEST NC JSC, said.
This is the second project implemented by Solarnet Investment GmbH in this region, and the third solar station in the region. In early 2019, the largest 100 MW solar power plant in Central Asia began to operate in the city of Saran. The company “Solarnet Investment GmbH” invested 32.1 billion tenge in the project. According to plans, it is planned to build six renewable energy stations in Karaganda region by the end of 2020.
