Six Kazakh cities' airports enjoy 72-hour visa-free regime for China and India
The Ministry is working on the development of the transit potential of Kazakhstan.
The regime now extends to passengers of all airlines, regardless of state affiliation: both Kazakhstan and foreign. The 72-hour visa-free regime of entry, stay and departure from Kazakhstan, introduced earlier for citizens of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of India, is valid until 11.59 p.m. 31 December 2020.
Thus, citizens of the PRC and India traveling in transit through the airports of the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent, Aktau, Karaganda, Taraz, on Kazakhstan and foreign airlines can use the 72-hour visa-free regime for staying on the territory of Kazakhstan.
According to current data, the transit passenger flow through Kazakhstan in 2019 exceeded 1 million passengers. The growth of transit passenger traffic compared to 2018 amounted to about 11%. The amendments are believed to contribute to an increase in the number of passengers through Kazakhstan.
