Saudi Arabia’s Commerce Chamber shows interest in coop with Kazakhstan
Kazakh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Berik Aryn attended a meeting with Asharqia Commerce Chamber Chairman Abdulhakim bin Hamad Al-Khaldi, the Kazakh foreign ministry informs.
The meeting was held as part of a seminar on investment opportunities in Kazakhstan held in Dammam, which was organized by the Kazakh embassy in Saudi Arabia together with the Commerce Chamber of Asharqia.
The parties discussed ways to establish cooperation between the two countries in the field of trade and attract mutual investments.
Berik Aryn acquainted the interlocutor with the main economic achievements of Kazakhstan, and also spoke about the ongoing work to attract foreign investment in various sectors of the economy.
In particular, the ambassador said that all conditions are being created for foreign businessmen to conduct light and transparent business in Kazakhstan, such as liberalization of the visa regime, protection of investor rights, reduction of administrative barriers, etc.
At the same time, the Kazakh diplomat noted the low dynamics of trade between the countries. In this regard, he called for an exchange of visits between businessmen of the two countries and invited the Saudi side to visit Kazakhstan for a detailed acquaintance with the projects being implemented in the country.
The Asharqia Commerce Chamber Chairman expressed interest in establishing cooperation between the business circles of the two countries, for which he promised to assist in sending Saudi entrepreneurs to Kazakhstan for a detailed study of the projects.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of appointing the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan in Dammam, which, according to the Saudi side, would give an additional impetus to the strengthening of trade and economic ties between the two countries.
The parties agreed to continue joint work at various levels, including through the organization of mutual visits and thematic events, such as seminars and B2B meetings, which are held these days in Dammam and Riyadh between representatives of Kazakhstani companies and Saudi businessmen.
