Samruk Kazyna Fund’s group of companies recaps successful 2019 year
Chairman of the Board of Samruk Kazyna National Welfare Fund Akhmetzhan Yessimov gave a positive assessment to the work of most companies of the Fund's group in 2019 based on the results of their reports, the Fund’s press service reports.
According to the latest data from 2019, the operating profit (NOPLAT) stood at 922 billion tenge, by 20.5% or 157 billion tenge more than the planned indicator. Net income amounted to 1 256 billion tenge, which is 38% more than the plan.
The debt burden of the Samruk Kazyna group has so far decreased by 1 trillion tenge since 2017, while the external debt has been reduced by 5.1 billion US dollars. Dividends to the shareholder-government have doubled and amounted to 190 billion tenge.
“The results are the implementation of the Fund’s new strategy, approved by Elbasy in April 2018,” Akhmetzhan Yessimov said.
At the end of 2019, revenues from the Fund's group of companies approximated at 1.2 trillion tenge or 10% of all the revenues to the consolidated budget of the country.
The transition to a new procurement model with an increase in the share of public tender methods and the request for price offers contributed to savings of 155 billion tenge over the reporting period.
Air Astana’s passenger flow rose by 17% than in 2018. KazMunayGas’s net income increased by 39%, while operating profit of Kazakh Temir Zholy increased by 35% compared to 2018.
The meeting has outlined the main tasks for 2020 in improving the efficiency of portfolio companies.
