President Tokayev receives Semey Mayor Yermak Salimov
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has heard a report on the social and economic development of the city of Semey and the implementation of measures to improve the welfare of residents, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of Akorda.
The meeting focused on the prospects of reactivating idle capacity, in particular the leather and fur factory, as well as the introduction of a radiological centre and the construction of a new school, road reconstruction and street improvement.
The President instructed to organize high-quality events dedicated to the 175th anniversary of Abai without attracting foreign specialists.
The Head of State has emphasized the significance of the decision to give Semey the status of a historical centre, and pointed out the adoption of necessary measures to upgrade the museums’ work, improve the memorial sites so as to attract tourists and the city’s guests.
He also outlined the significance to plant trees within the Semey Ormany Reserve, and the importance to engage volunteers and youth.
