President Tokayev receives AIFC Chairman
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received Chairman of the Astana International Financial Center Kairat Kelimbetov, Strategy2050.kz reports referring to Akorda’s press service.
The Head of State was informed about the main results of the activities of the Astana International Financial Center aimed at developing the financial market, protecting the rights and interests of investors and consumers of financial services, as well as trade and investment cooperation.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pointed out the importance of the AIFC effective work in the context of the tasks set to restore and ensure further economic growth after the crisis.
In this regard, the President instructed to actively use the potential of the Center in attracting investment and developing the stock market in the light of the upcoming privatization of state assets. It was also noted the need to ensure access for businesses to use the AIFC court and arbitration to resolve economic disputes.
President Tokayev drew attention to the need for close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign representations of the country to promote the AIFC investment tax residency program.
Following the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of specific instructions for the further AIFC development.
