President of Slovakia accepted credentials from Kazakh ambassador
The Kazakh ambassador to Slovakia, Roman Vassilenko, presented his credentials to the President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Čaputová, as the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan in this country with a residence in Bratislava, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the Kazakh foreign ministry.
The Kazakh ambassador pointed out the interest of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and, in general, the leadership of Kazakhstan in the development of comprehensive mutually beneficial cooperation with Slovakia, as evidenced by the opening of the country's embassy in Bratislava last year.
The two states pledged to foster trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation and strengthen contacts between the peoples. Currently, more than 40 companies with Slovak participation are already operating in Kazakhstan, and the most serious prospects for cooperation are noted in the fields of engineering, defense industry, energy, IT, pharmaceuticals, agricultural processing and others. The presence of favourable prospects for enhancing cooperation between the two countries was also emphasized in the light of the full entry into force of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Kazakhstan and the European Union and its member states effective 1 March of this year.
Meanwhile, President Zuzana Čaputová, noting the positive significance of the opening of the embassy in Bratislava, expressed the hope that the dynamics of cooperation between two countries in recent years will continue to intensify.
Both stressed the presence of many similarities between the two countries both in historical development and at the present stage of the formation of democratic states with a market economy, which creates good prerequisites for further strengthening cooperation and the exchange of experience.
In focus were the efforts of the two countries to combat climate change and the development of alternative energy. In light of the commitments made by Bratislava to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the Slovak Head accepted with interest the information on the work being carried out in Kazakhstan to develop solar, wind and other types of alternative energy to achieve the goal of providing 50 percent of the country's energy needs due to renewable energy by 2050.
The Slovak President conveyed the best wishes to the leadership and Kazakh people.
