President of Kazakhstan to participate in teleconference of Turkic Council
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev confirmed his participation in the extraordinary Summit of the Turkic Council, which will be held on April 10 in the format of teleconference. The Summit will be themed “Cooperation and solidarity in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic”, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to President’s press secretary Berik Uali.
“The teleconference will be held on the initiative of current Chairman of the Turkic Council - President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The summit participants will exchange views on measures taken at the national level to combat the coronavirus epidemic, develop multilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector and solve common problems caused by COVID-19 pandemic in the region”, the spokesman wrote on his Facebook page.
He noted that the Heads of State will also discuss ways to overcome the negative impact of coronavirus on the national and global economy, discuss future joint efforts and general measures to continue trade and economic relations and ensure unhindered transport connections during the crisis and in the post-pandemic period.
Following the Summit, the adoption of the Joint Declaration is expected.
