Plant quarantine state inspectors gave fines for KZT 38 mln - Ministry of Agriculture
In 2019, state inspectors of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture revealed about 2.5 thousand violations of legislation in the sphere of plant quarantine committed when importing regulated products into Kazakhstan, Strategy2050.kz refers to the Ministry’s press service.
Mainly, these were violations of the ban on the transportation of plant products and plants in hand luggage from Uzbekistan - 1,321 cases. Among others - import without phytosanitary certificate, import of prohibited products, quarantine objects and regulated products with an invalid phytosanitary certificate, etc.
As a result, 657 administrative fines amounting to 38.6 million tenge were imposed on people trying to import products to Kazakhstan. More than 2.1 thousand lots of regulated products were returned (9.6 thousand tons, 2.8 thousand cubic meters and 110 thousand units of planting material and flowers).
In addition, 488 official notifications of non-conformity of products were sent to exporting countries - Russia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China.
