Over 120 countries import Kazakh products
The first Kazakh industrialization program, launched as an anti-crisis measure, subsequently became an effective tool for the consistent development of the manufacturing industry and the transition of raw materials industries traditional for the Kazakh economy to higher degrees of processing, the Ministry of Industry and Industrial Development informs.
For ten years of industrialization, rapid growth in industrial production has been ensured and the main targeted indicators have been significantly improved.
As part of the industrialization program, 1250 projects have been launched. About 195 thousand jobs were created, including 120 thousand permanent jobs and 75 thousand temporary jobs.
The production of more than 500 types of goods not previously produced in Kazakhstan has been established. The share of the manufacturing sector in the industrial structure increased from 32% in 2009 to 38% in 2018.
Production grew by 42.3% in real terms. The largest contribution to the growth was made by the metallurgical industry (42%), food production (13.7%), mechanical engineering (10.7%) and construction materials production (10%).
The economy attracted over 32 billion US dollars of foreign direct investment.
The structure of the manufacturing industry has changed: new directions have been added - the auto industry, large-scale railway engineering, oil and gas engineering, and the production of complex fertilizers.
With the launch of a plant for the production of titanium ingots and alloys, production of previously unreleased products has begun. The share of Kazakh titanium in the world market amounted to 11%, in the aerospace industry - 17%.
Production volumes in the engineering industry increased 3.8 times.
At 20 production sites of 11 pharmaceutical enterprises, international GMP standards have been introduced.
The building materials industry completely overcame import dependency on basic bulk materials.
During the years of industrialization, production has been increased and articles of non-oil exports for 70 goods have been formed, the export of which exceeds $1 million.
Today, more than 120 countries in the world consume products made in Kazakhstan.
