Over 1 mln Kazakhstanis work in agriculture sector - Ministry
According to government statistics, about 1.2 million people work in the agriculture sector of Kazakhstan. At the same time, more than half are men, and about 512 thousand women - 73 thousand less.
It is also noteworthy that 141 thousand rural workers live in cities.
There are 464 510 employees in agriculture. The rest belong to other categories of the employed population (entrepreneurs and self-employed).
In general, in terms of employment, agriculture occupies a leading position, along with trade, industry and education.
For 11 months this year Kazakhstani people employed in agriculture have produced products and services worth 4 trillion 931 billion 359 million tenge - 671 billion more than in the period from January to November 2018.
