5 February, 2020 15:11

Prime Minister Askar Mamin received Chief Executive Officer of OneWeb Adrián Steckel, during which the Kazakh PM was reported on the readiness to launch 34 satellites from Baikonur Cosmodrome on 7 February this year as part of the OneWeb global satellite network, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to primeminister.kz.

The possibilities of implementing a project to assemble satellites for OneWeb on the basis of the Spacecraft Assembly and Testing Complex at the National Space Centre in Nur-Sultan, as well as the creation of a joint venture to deploy a gateway station in Kazakhstan for the subsequent exclusive distribution of satellite internet One Web to the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus, Iran and Afghanistan were considered.

Global Communication Company OneWeb is creating a global low-orbit satellite network to provide high-speed internet access and data services (5-50 Mbit/sec. to a user terminal).
