Oman pledges to relax visa requirements for Kazakh residents
Kazakh Ambassador Nazhmedin Mukhametali met with Omani Tourism Minister Ahmed al-Mahrizi and went over the state and prospects of Kazakh-Omani relations in tourism, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
The Kazakh ambassador to Oman elaborated on the introduction of a visa-free regime for Omani residents for up to 30 days from 30 September 2019 within Kazakhstan. He went on to say that such a step would enhance the countries’ relations in tourism and further foster the trade and economic cooperation and partnership.
On his part, the Omani tourism minister commended the decision, expressing gratitude and stressing the need for the same steps from the Omani side. He accentuated the visa procedures would be relaxed for Kazakh citizens. As a first step, Oman will present an opportunity to obtain e-visas to Kazakh residents, and they will be able to get visas at airports and other Omani border crossings very soon (as residents of the USA and other developed Western countries).
He mentioned of Kazakhstan’s potential in tourism and expressed confidence that the step taken by Kazakhstan would result in an increased number of Omani tourists. Both also expressed hope that a direct flight between Kazakhstan and Oman would be opened soon, and agreed to adopt appropriate measures to that end.
