Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Azerbaijani President in Baku
First Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to the press service of the first Kazakh President.
The Kazakh National Leader pointed out the positive dynamic in the Kazakh-Azerbaijani relations during the meeting.
“This is the first time that I come to you in another status. Kazakhstan continues its economy development programmes and strengthening its independence. Our relations continue developing. There are many opportunities for furthering our cooperation. Our mutual trade turnover needs to grow as the required logistics is in place. Tomorrow, a meeting of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States will take place. I assumed with pleasure the title of Honorary Chairman and am willing to contribute our countries’ cooperation,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

Ilham Aliyev, on his part, expressed gratitude to the first Kazakh President for his participation in the meeting of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States, welcoming hos contribution to the bilateral relations.
“It is a great pleasure to have the first Kazakh President in Azerbaijani territory. You are a great friend of ours. You always used to support our country on many important international issues. You also greatly contributed to the solidarity among the Turkic-speaking countries. We are glad that Baku is holding the anniversary summit,” the Azerbaijani President said.
The Azerbaijani President went on to say that the Kazakh capital’s construction emulated in Baku’s development.
“I witnessed the rapid transformation of your capital city. Visiting the EXPO exhibition, I impressed with the construction works and architecture. All the achievements of Kazakhstan are linked to your name,” the Azerbaijani President said.
