Number of tourists exceeded 2.3 mln people in Almaty rgn last year

The number of tourists in Almaty region increased by 19% and exceeded 2.3 million people. The volume of services provided to them increased by 1.2 times and reached 16 billion tenge, Governor of the region Amandyk Batalov said at the meeting with the population.
According to Amandyk Batalov, the reconstruction of the airport in Usharal city will begin this year, which will allow to accept large aircraft. Water supply, sanitation and shore protection networks will be built on the shores of the Alakol Lake.
"This will create even more comfortable conditions for vacationers, the number of which will increase to 1.5 million people", the press service of the Governor reports.
