Nigmatulin: Mazhilis will pursue work to improve domestic legislation
At the first in this year plenary meeting of the Mazhilis, Chairman, Nurlan Nigmatulin, outlined the priorities for work for the forthcoming period before the deputy corps, Strategy2050.kz informs referring to the press service of the Mazhilis.
Speaker of the Mazhilis noted that the deputies will have to pass many important laws before the end of the session, which are necessary in order to implement the instructions of the country's leadership, including those related to the implementation of social programs.
“Of course, in the course of the work on bills a constant dialogue will be held with representatives of civil society”, Nurlan Nigmatulin emphasized.
Among the important draft laws are the new edition of the Environmental Code, the draft Code “On Population Health and Health Care System”, amendments and additions to the Civil Procedure Code. Deputies will have to consider a completely new document - the Administrative Procedure Code.
Now there are 61 bills in the portfolio of the Mazhilis.
“It should be noted that the “government hour” plays an important role in ensuring parliamentary control over various aspects of the activity of central executive bodies”, the Speaker of the Mazhilis said, speaking about the upcoming work.
By the end of this session, 10 members of the Government will speak with the information on domestic and foreign policy, economic and social life of the country, which are in the spotlight of the Kazakh public, in front of Mazhilis’s deputies within the “government hour”.
“Parliamentary hearings will be held on such relevant topics as “Improving the legal framework for the provision of legal assistance” and “The quality of secondary education in urban and rural schools. Problems and solutions”. Thus, the main areas of activity of the Mazhilis will continue to be the improvement of the quality of lawmaking, strengthening control over the activities of the central executive bodies”, Nurlan Nigmatulin summed up.
