New Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population named
By a decree of the Kazakh Government, Serik Shapkenov has been appointed to the position of the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Kazakhstan, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
Serik Shapkenov was born in 1979 in West Kazakhstan. He graduated from West Kazakhstan State University with a degree in economics and mathematics.
He began his career in 2000 as a teacher at West Kazakhstan State University. Over the years, he held many posts in the Governor’s Office of West Kazakhstan region.
In 2012-2015 he was the first deputy governor of West Kazakhstan region.
Then, he worked at the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan for two years.
In 2016, he was designated the mayor of Atyrau city.
Two years later, Shapkenov took up the post of the first deputy governor of Atyrau region and worked there until the recent appointment.
