Most-wanted jobs named in Kazakhstan
There are 100 open vacancies per 96 resumes, with watchmen, drivers and nurses in a great demand in Kazakhstan, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to Finprom.kz.
As at the end of the 2nd quarter of the present year, there was a 0.1% rise in the number of jobless persons, to 441.8 thousand people. Nevertheless, the unemployment rate dropped from 4.9% to 4.8% within the year thanks to a 1.4% increase in the economically active population.
Unemployed men made up 47.8% (211 thousand persons) following the second quarter of 2019, whereas women – 52.2% (230.8 thousand persons). Jobless young persons aged 15-28 were 18.4%, or 81.1 thousand persons, thus the unemployment rate of youth aged 15-28 was 3.7% (a year ago – 3.9%).
Most unemployed live in Almaty: 50.3 thousand persons (a year ago – 49.6 thousand). In the source of 9 months of 2019, 33.1 thousand persons were engaged in the 2017-21 State programme for the development of productive employment and mass entrepreneurship Enbek in the city, facilitating the employment of 21.6 thousand persons, 16.3 of which received landed permanent jobs.
The top-3 regions with low employment rates also included Almaty (48 thousand unemployed) and Turkestan (42.1 thousand unemployed) regions.
The e-job exchange saw 196.9 thousand new vacancies against 116.9 resumes during the third quarter of this year, meaning there were 100 vacancies per 69 resumes, needing more manpower. The most need for manpower was observed in Kostanay region – 100 vacancies per 25 resumes, in Astana – 100 vacancies per 29 resumes, Pavlodar region – 100 vacancies per 49 resumes.
Four regions saw more resumes than open vacancies, with 100 vacancies per 210 resumes in Mangystau region, 100 vacancies per 200 resumes in Kyzylorda region, 100 vacancies per 147 resumes in Turkestan region, and 100 vacancies per 109 resumes in Shymkent.
Watchmen (5.4 thousand open vacancies), drivers (4.2 thousand open vacancies) and nurses (4 thousand open vacancies), educators (3.9 thousand open vacancies) and primary teachers (3.6 thousand open vacancies) are in a great demand in Kazakhstan on the electronic job exchange.
The least-wanted professions include lawyers, tech-programmers, general technicians, general economists and financiers.
As of the end of 2019’s second quarter, there were total 8.8 million working persons, 1.5% up over the same period of 2018 (8.6 million persons). The employment rate of the population aged 15 and over was 66.7%.
Employed persons made up 76.1% (6.7 million persons), whereas 2.1 million persons or 23.9% were self-employed.
