Most popular vehicles in a nine-month period named in Kazakhstan
Kazakhs purchased 49.2 thousand new vehicles for 451.2 billion tenge in 9 months of 2019, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to KazAvtoProm.
Kazakhstan’s Union of Automobile Enterprises KazAvtoProm has released the data about the sales of new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in a nine-month period of 2019.
Between January and September, the official car dealerships sold 49 243 vehicles, by 18.3% up compared to the figures in last year, costing Kazakhs 451.2 billion tenge ($1.18B), up by 27.1% over 2018.
There was a 10% rise in the sales in September 2019, with a total market size of 54.7 billion tenge ($141.3 million) in cash volume, resulting in an 11.9% increase.
27 795 buyers or 56.4% opted for vehicles manufactured in Kazakhstan, 21 448 or 43.6% of the buyers preferred imported vehicles.
With 11 092 Lada vehicles sold over 9 months of 2019, they found to be popular among Kazakhs over 9 months of 2019. They were followed by Toyota vehicles – 10 524 vehicles. The third popular were Hyundai vehicles – 10 008 sold vehicles. The next were KIA and Renault 2 358 or 1 821 sold vehicles respectively.
Other brands include GAZ (1 726), Nissan (1 664), Ravon (1 576), UAZ (1 361) and Volkswagen (1 289).
