More young entrepreneurs opt for trade and car repair
4 out of 10 operating companies are found in the field of trade and car repair, Energyprom.kz reports.
The report also points out active involvement of young people in individual entrepreneurship as their number grew by 20% within the year.
January this year has seen 145.7 thousand young individual entrepreneurs under the age of 29 being registered, 13.6% up than in 2019. Of these, 130.8 thousand (90%) entrepreneurs are active. The annual growth in the number of operating individual entrepreneurs was 19.8%.
The number of enterprises fully owned by young people under the age of 29 reached 35.1 thousand. The growth amounted to 3.5% (a year earlier 33.9 thousand enterprises). Of these, the number of operating enterprises amounted to 28.5 thousand, an increase of 6.5% within the year.
Most enterprises owned by young business persons operate in the field of wholesale and retail trade, car and motorcycle repair: 11.5 thousand (40.4% of all existing enterprises). Another 4.3 thousand enterprises are found in construction (14.9% of enterprises), and 1.6 thousand are engaged in professional, scientific and technical activities (5.5%).
The fewer young owners engage in public administration and defense, as well as compulsory social security and electricity/water supply.
Most of the enterprises of young owners are located in megacities: Almaty (7.4 thousand enterprises), Nur-Sultan (6.3 thousand) and Shymkent (2 thousand enterprises), whereas Northern Kazakhstan (347), Western Kazakhstan (553) and Akmola (620 enterprises) regions have fewer such enterprises.
