More than half of all companies with foreign participation operates in capitals - research
By January 2020, 32.7 thousand legal entities, branches and representative offices with foreign participation were registered in Kazakhstan, an increase of 4%, Strategy2050.kz has learnt from Finprom.kz.
Of these, 20.5 thousand enterprises are active, the annual growth in the number of operating enterprises is 15.4%.
Among existing legal entities with foreign participation, by the beginning of the year 19.9 thousand of them belonged to small companies, 319 - to medium-sized companies, 257 - to large enterprises and branches.
Most of the branches, legal entities and representative offices are represented by such participating countries as Russia (7.2 thousand enterprises), Turkey (2 thousand enterprises), China (1.2 thousand enterprises), Uzbekistan (1.1 thousand enterprises) and Kyrgyzstan (950 enterprises). They account for 60.8% of all enterprises.
The largest number of legal entities, branches and representative offices with foreign participation works in the wholesale and retail trade sphere and car repair.
The largest number of existing legal entities, branches and representative offices with foreign participation falls on the cities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan, as well as Karaganda region.
