Mazhilis Speaker visited Abay Center at Hanoi University
During his official visit to Vietnam Chairman of the Mazhilis Nurlan Nigmatulin visited the Abay Center at the University of Hanoi and met with the professors and students of the university, Strategy2050.kz has learned from the press service of the Mazhilis.
The Abay Culture and Science Center was opened in 2013. Now it is preparing for the celebration of the 175th anniversary of Abay.
Nurlan Nigmatulin noted the importance of the Center for cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries and spoke about the events planned in Kazakhstan for Abay Kunanbayev’s jubilee, and then presented a series of books.
At the meeting with the professors and students of Hanoi University Nurlan Nigmatulin told about the deepening of the comprehensive cooperation between Kazakhstan and Vietnam, made an excursion into Kazakhstan’s history, and also noted the pace of Vietnam’s development, whose economic growth today shows 7%.
It should be noted that Hanoi University is one of the oldest universities in the country, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
During the conversation with the students, speaking about the importance of quality education, the Speaker of the Mazhilis emphasized that in the era of the “knowledge economy” its relevance increases significantly. At the same time, innovation is the defining vector - in the form of highly efficient, high-tech technologies, goods and services, affecting not only the manufacturing sector, but also education, healthcare and culture.
Nurlan Nigmatulin also shared his opinion on the possibilities of Kazakh-Vietnamese cooperation, noting the great potential, primarily in the transport and logistics sector, industrial cooperation, light and food industries, agriculture, and tourism. Nurlan Nigmatulin expressed hope for the prospect of productive cooperation in the educational sector, forging close contacts between business entities.
In turn, the students asked the Chairman of the Mazhilis about advantages of the EAEU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, and the particularities of the parliaments of the two countries. The representatives of the young generation were also interested in the opinion of Nurlan Nigmatulin regarding professions that will be in demand in the future, as well as the role of social networks in the work of deputies.
