Mazhilis passes amendments to Treaty on cooperation in customs matters

On 25 September 2019 the amendments to the Treaty on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters have been approved at the planetary session chaired by Mazhilis Speaker, Nurlan Nigmatulin, Strategy2050.kz informs with reference to the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament.

The amendments are designed to expand and deepen cooperation, support and mutual assistance among the CIS governments.

The draft law’s ratification allows for the exchange of information between customs bodies of the CIS countries on their own initiative or upon request in a bid to ensure the customs legislation is not violated.

The Treaty’s scope of application broads authorized territorial bodies of the CIS customs services are vested with the powers and share information.

Concluding the plenary session, the parliamentarians made deputy requests addressed to the heads of central government bodies.
