Mazhilis deputies, ‘Zhastar’ Theatre staff discussed legislative amendments on cultural issues
Mazhilis Committee for Social and Cultural Development Chair Gulshara Abdykalikova and Mazhilis Deputy Mikhail Chirkov have met today with the staff of Zhastar Theater in the capital of Nur-Sultan, the Kazakh lower house press service informs.
The mazhilis deputies, members of the Nur Otan party faction have spoken about legislative innovations adopted to implement the main program documents and initiatives of the Kazakh President, as well as about their legislative activities in the current session.
Particular attention has been given to the changes expected in the field of culture. According to Gulshara Abdykalikova, in line with the address of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, it was ordered to develop amendments to the Law on Culture, which will provide for specific measures to support cultural workers. This includes the creation of a Cultural Support Fund, digitalization issues, and the regulation of concert activities. Also, the funds are provided for increasing the salaries of theater workers.
“We will continue to support theaters,” the parliamentarian said.
In turn, the artists of the theater spoke about the problems associated with the purchase of sets and stage costumes, providing for the introduction of appropriate amendments to the Law on Public Procurement.
“A very useful meeting has taken place with the theater staff, which at the time received great support from Elbasy,” Gulshara Abdykalikova said.
