Maulen Ashimbayev named Senate Speaker

The Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan held a sitting with the participation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. On the proposal of the President, senators unanimously elected Maulen Ashimbayev as the Senate Chairman, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Chamber.
Maulen Ashimbayev expressed gratitude to the President and senators for the high confidence placed in him.
“The President voiced the main tasks facing the country. The most pressing issue today is the fight against the pandemic that has spread throughout the world. At the end of the state of emergency, as noted by the Head of State, the main task of all state bodies should be to maintain the continuity of the policy of Elbasy, implement the President’s strategy aimed at further development of the state, economy and improving the welfare of the country's population. The Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan will do everything necessary for the high-quality legislative support of the policy of the Head of State”, Maulen Ashimbayev said.
