Large-scale geologic exploration starts in Kazakhstan
Large-scale geologic exploration in the territory of four regions of Kazakhstan will begin by “Tau-Ken Samruk” National Mining Company, Strategy2050.kz reports with the reference to the press service of the Company.
It should be noted that geologic exploration project will be implemented in partnership with Kazakhstan Fortescue.
The owner-operator agreement is signed between “Tau-Ken Samruk” NMC JSC and Kazakhstan Fortescue LLP, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Australian listed mining company Fortescue Metals Group Ltd.
Prospecting works will be performed over a total area of approximately 18 000 km2 on the territory of Karaganda, Almaty, Aktobe and Kyzylorda regions.

Within the first year, Kazakhstan Fortescue will acquire and analysehistorical dataand perform a large-scale regional airborne geophysical survey to collect magnetic and gravity data.
The geophysical survey will be complemented with detailed structural and geological interpretation and mapping, as well as complex ground-based geophysical surveys and drilling to define and test prospective areas for mineralization in subsequent years.
