KZT5.4 bn pass through national payment systems every minute

30.6 million transactions amounting to 597.2 trillion tenge have been conducted through the payment systems of the National Bank of Kazakhstan for 9 months of 2019. Moreover, 167.7 thousand payments totaling 3.3 trillion tenge go through the national payment systems daily, that is, on business days 5.4 billion tenge pass every minute, Strategy2050.kz has learnt from National Bank’s official information.
“In general, in 2019, the efficiency factor of payment systems of the National Bank (interbank money transfer system and interbank clearing system) amounted to 99.99%. It exceeds the established target indicators and characterizes the high efficiency of the payment systems”, Director of the Payment Systems Department of the National Bank Yerlan Ashykbekov said.
In total, as of October 1, 2019 there are 17 payment systems in the payment market of Kazakhstan, including national payment systems, the operator of which is the National Bank, and private payment systems, which include money transfer systems and payment card systems.
