KZT22 mln of fines imposed on violation of quarantine restrictions
Starting the year, inspecting goods imported into Kazakhstan, state inspectors of the Ministry of Agriculture have revealed more than 600 violations of the law in the sphere of plant quarantine, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reports.
In most cases, entrepreneurs importing goods did not have valid phytosanitary certificates, less often there was no labeling.
In addition, in 60 cases, importers refused to submit quarantined products for secondary inspection at the place of receipt of the goods, in 13 cases, inspectors found dangerous quarantine organisms in the goods.
Most often, quarantine requirements were violated by persons importing goods from Russia (439 violations), Uzbekistan (110) and Iran (33 cases).
The Agriculture Ministry’s state inspectors took the following measures to identify violations: 332 shipments of regulated products totaling more than 10 thousand tons were returned to the sending countries. In one case, the whole batch of contaminated products was burned. In addition, 384 fines were imposed for a total amount exceeding 22 million tenge.
