KazMunayGas gained right to export benzene and paraxylene to EU countries
Benzene and paraxylene, produced at Atyrau Oil Refinery, have completed international REACH certification, having received the right to be exported to the countries of the European Union, Strategy2050.kz reports.
It should be noted that REACH Certificate is awarded to products that have not only international quality certificates, but also it is a document certifying that a product is compliant with the EU REACH regulation.
This certification is designed to provide a high level of health care of population and the environment, as well as the free circulation of chemicals, while increasing competitiveness and stimulating innovation. EU’s chemical enterprises are required to provide information on chemicals produced or imported by them.
Registration of the REACH certificate was carried out in several stages, during which all the necessary documentation was prepared to receive registration number, Atyrau Refinery LLP was registered at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), and joined the Joint Submission system.
It should be noted that the complex for the production of aromatic hydrocarbons, built as part of modernization at Atyrau Refinery, may annually produce 133 thousand tons of benzene and 496 thousand tons of paraxylene.
