Kazakhstan won first gold medal at Military World Games
Taekwondo fighter, junior sergeant Ruslan Zhapparov won the first gold medal at the 7th Military World Games taking place in Hubei Province of China, the press service of the Central Sports Club of the Army reports.
Ruslan Zhapparov defeated Russian athlete Vladislav Larin, the 2015 world championship bronze medalist.
Two more bronze medals were won by Greco-Roman wrestlers Aidos Sultangali and Gulmaral Yerkebayeva.

Aidos Sultangali defeated bronze medalist of the 2019 Asian Championships Gyanendra Dahiya of India scoring 6:3 in the men’s 60 kg final. In the women’s 76 kg weight class Gulmaral Yerkebayeva crashed Lithuanian wrestler 10:0.

We remind that the VII summer CISM Military World Games are held in 27 sports, where more than 9308 strongest military athletes from 109 countries participate. According to the results of five competitive days, China leads with the most medals won. In second place is Russia, Brazil is the third. Kazakhstan is in 20th place, the team has one gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
