Kazakhstan to tighten restrictive measures on June 20-21
Intergovernmental commission chaired by Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin has decided to introduce additional restrictions on weekends - June 20-21 in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection and to stabilize the epidemiological situation in Kazakhstan, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Prime Minister.
Given the worsening epidemiological situation and the increase in the COVID-19 cases in several regions of Kazakhstan, the Intergovernmental commission decided to introduce additional restrictive measures on weekends - June 20-21:
1) in the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent, Pavlodar and Ekibastuz:
- to suspend the activities of shopping and entertainment centers, trading houses, chain stores, indoor food and non-food markets, bazaars;
- to allow operating of outdoor public catering facilities keeping social distance;
- to curb the performance of public vehicles;
- to suspend the functioning of public places: parks, garden squares, embankments, beaches, water parks;
- to suspend the activities of fitness centers;
- to restrict the exit into streets for people over 65 years old.
2) in settlements with a population exceeding 50 thousand people:
- to suspend the functioning of public places: parks, garden squares, embankments, water parks;
- to restrict the exit into streets for people over 65 years old.
3) to close tourist areas located near the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Karaganda, Shymkent, Pavlodar and Ekibastuz, in accordance with the decisions of the chief sanitary doctors of the regions, those located in these zones must observe social distance.
The Head of Government instructed the Governor’s Offices of the regions to resolve the following issues as soon as possible:
- to expand the coverage of PCR testing among the population by opening additional laboratories on the basis of medical organizations;
- to increase the number of infectious and provisional places in hospitals;
- to ensure the coverage of CT examination with the involvement of available resources in the region, regardless of ownership;
- to ensure timely service of emergency calls by ambulance stations;
- to implement high-quality dynamic monitoring (remotely, mobile teams) of patients at home at the level of outpatient care;
- to conduct public awareness efforts.
