Kazakhstan to proceed with evacuating its citizens from China
In accordance with the order of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on taking measures to protect Kazakh citizens from infection with a coronavirus, the Government evacuates Kazakhstanis who are in China and have expressed a desire to return to their homeland, Strategy2050.kz cities the information of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan.
On February 10 and 12, this year, in agreement with the Chinese authorities, two Air Astana airlines will be sent to Beijing to evacuate Kazakh citizens. Passengers will be accompanied by medical personnel during the flight.
At the request of the Chinese side, these flights are planned to deliver 47 Chinese citizens, located in Kazakhstan, as well as the non-commercial cargo of the Chinese Embassy in Kazakhstan.
Currently, there are 719 citizens of Kazakhstan in the territory of China, 391 of whom have requested to assist in their return to their homeland. The rest - employees and family members of diplomatic institutions, students and other private individuals - expressed a desire to stay in China.
The diplomatic institutions of Kazakhstan in the PRC continue to work and maintain contact with citizens of Kazakhstan to provide appropriate assistance if necessary.
All these measures are carried out in close coordination with the Chinese side, which takes a constructive approach to resolving all issues related to the citizens of Kazakhstan in the PRC.
