Kazakhstan to host Festival for the Earth in 2021
The Festival for the Earth, which is among the major forums in the sphere of ecology, green economy and new thinking, aims at the social, economic and scientific transformation through the art. The Kazakh representatives have attended such a major event for the first time, the International Green Technologies and Investments Center’s press service informs.
Between 6 and 7 November Aliya Nazarbayeva, Chairwoman of the Presidium of the Association of Environemntal Organizations of Kazakhstan, led a delegation involving Ramazan Zhampiisov, head of the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment, and Madina Dzhiyenbayeva, director for strategic development of the Foundation for the development of socially important initiatives, took part in the Festival for the Earth in Monaco.
The Festival for the Earth aims at forming new thinking for better ecology and life on the planet. It was held under the patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, and initiated and organized by the prominent artistic creator, painter Maria Rebecca Ballestra.

The event also saw the participation of Cho Jaeweon, who is a professor of environmental engineering at the National Institute of Science and Technology, Julian Lennon, composer, author of the films and photo-exhibitions devoted to environmental issues, the first son of the founder of The Beatles, and others. The UN, OECD, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change, Ca' Foscari University of Venice, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco and the National Geographical Community acted as the partners.
The meeting of Director-General of the Festival for the Earth Maria Rebecca Ballestra, Minister Plenipotentiary and Bernard Fautrier, special advisor to the sovereign for environmental issues and Aliya Nazarbayeva decided to cooperate on the organization and holding of the Festival for the Earth in Kazakhstan in 2021.
The Festival for the Earth will offer a unique and innovational forum to Central Asia to address the issues of climate change, the opportunities associated with sustainable development and formation of environmental awareness.
