4 June, 2020 12:33

Schools’ shortage in places may account to about 500 thousand by 2025 in the country. This was stated by Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov at the reporting meeting with the population, Strategy2050.kz reports.

“There are 54 emergency and 183 three-shift schools in the country and there is a shortage in 168 thousand places. Taking into account the demographic and migration processes, the situation with the lack of infrastructure in the cities may worsen. According to forecast estimates, by 2025 the deficit may amount to about 500 thousand places at our schools”, Aimagambetov said.

It should be recalled that during the third meeting of the National Council of Public Confidence the Head of State announced that 800 schools will be built in Kazakhstan.

In addition, in order to eliminate the problem of three-shift and emergency schools, the Ministry uses different measures.

“Each year, 80 billion tenge is allocated for the construction of educational facilities. This year, 80 educational facilities will be additionally built. Such tools as the introduction of per capita financing, as well as cooperation in the framework of PPPs, have shown their effectiveness”, the Minister said.
