Kazakhstan sets zero customs duties on export of Al-Sc ligature
In accordance with the order of the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, zero customs duty rates for the export of aluminum-scandium alloys will be applied starting from April 27, 2020, the press service of the Ministry reports.
This decision was made at the request of MAST LLP, the only producer of high-tech aluminum master alloys in Kazakhstan: aluminum-scandium alloys (2-5% by weight of Sc). Products are export-oriented and are mainly used in the aerospace industry.
Reducing the customs duty rate from 12% to 0% will provide an opportunity to expand production with increasing output from 35 to 120 tons per year, and to export to third countries.
Currently, MAST LLP provides up to 50 workplaces in the area of the industrial zone of Stepnogorsk and, in the absence of constraining development factors, is ready to provide work for up to 200 people.
“Given the priority of supporting export-oriented goods, we have set zero export customs duties”, explained Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
