Kazakhstan seen a 4% rise in total traffic in Jan-Nov this year
In 10 months of the present year total traffic has increased by 4% compared to the same period of last year, reports with reference to the press service of the Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan KAZLOGISTICS.
According to the Union, more than 335 million tons of cargo was transported by rail, 2.9 billion tons - by road, 1.3 million tons - by sea.
10 months of 2019 have seen a 2% rise in the country's cargo turnover, with rail transport amounting to more than 236 billion tonne-kilometers, automobile transport - more than 149 billion tonne-kilometers, and water transport - 14.1 million tonne-kilometers.
From January to November, a total of 6.9 million people were transported by rail, more than 19 billion passengers by road, more than 7 million by air.
The passenger turnover has increased by 5% within 10 months of 2019. In particular, rail transport has reached the figure of more than 5 billion passenger-kilometers, automobile transport - more than 215 billion passenger/ km, and aviation transport - more than 14 billion passenger/km.
The Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan KAZLOGISTICS includes about 570 transport and logistics companies and Associations of Kazakhstan, including 6 national companies Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Kazaeronavigation, Kazpost, Air Astana, Aktau International Sea Trade Port, KazAvtoZhol , 7 industry Associations - Association of National Forwarders of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan Association of Carriers and Wagon/Container Operators, and so on.
