Kazakhstan’s passport ranks 67th in 2020 in list of strongest in the world
The Henley & Partners Passport Index, which periodically measures the world's most travel-friendly passports, published its first report in the new decade. The passport rating includes data for 199 countries, Strategy2050.kz reports.
Kazakhstan ranks the 67th place in the ranking of the most attractive passports, sharing this place with Namibia. Kazakhstan’s passport allows visiting 76 countries without a visa. Saudi Arabia (77 countries), Bolivia (78), Suriname (78) and Thailand (78) are ahead of our country in the ranking.
Japan occupies a leading position, offering visa-free or visa access to 191 destinations around the world. Singapore - in second place (with a result in 190 countries), and South Korea with Germany in third place (with a result of 189).
Several world countries have visa-free or visa access in less than 40 countries - their passports are called the worst. These include North Korea, Sudan, Nepal, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Henley Passport Index is based on data provided by the International Air Transport Administration (IATA) and covers 199 passports and 227 destinations. It is updated in real time throughout the year, when changes in the visa policy of any of the countries come into force.
