Kazakhstan’s borders guard from transport of dangerous products - Ministry of Agriculture
The Ministry of Agriculture has published brief information on the work of veterinary control posts as of March 16, 2020, Strategy2050.kz reports.
Currently, there are 63 veterinary control posts in Kazakhstan; 228 state veterinary and sanitary inspectors work there.
32 veterinary checkpoints were established along the border with Russia and Kyrgyzstan to strengthen veterinary control during the movement of goods on the EAEU territory.
Also, their establishment was associated with the unstable situation of animal diseases in Kyrgyzstan and the creation of advance notification points (PUFs) on the Russian side of the border.
Since the beginning of 2020, these 32 additional checkpoints have been inspected 19.5 thousand tons of goods transported by 2 663 cars, almost a million heads of animals and birds, 32.3 million eggs. As a result, inspectors returned 93 cars and fined a total of 835,065 tenge.
In addition, Kazakhstan has 31 external posts established along the state border with Uzbekistan and China (14 - at car crossings, 6 - at the railway, 2 - at sea ports, 9 - at international airports).
At these posts, documentary and physical control is carried out by 88 state veterinary and sanitary inspectors.
As of March 16, 2020, 1,286 vehicles, 766 units of railway transport, and 55 sea cargo ships were inspected at external posts. 6 protocols on administrative offenses were compiled for a total of 79,530 tenge, in 25 cases vehicles with controlled cargoes returned to the sending countries.
At all 63 checkpoints, veterinary inspectors fill out acts of inspection of goods in automatic mode and transmit them to the information system of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
