Kazakhstan’s airlines suspend flights over Iran
In connection with the current situation, Kazakhstan’s airlines are working on the issue of performing these flights through alternative airways to fly over Iranian airspace in coordination with the navigation services of the respective countries, Strategy2050.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Industrial Development.
At present, 2 Kazakhstani air carriers, Air Astana and SCAT, carry out regular flights through Iranian airspace.
Air Astana operates flights from Nur-Sultan to Dubai (5 times a week) and from Almaty to Dubai (10 times a week) through Iranian airspace.
SCAT airlines operates two scheduled flights from Almaty to Medina and Jeddah (once a week) and two non-scheduled flights from Almaty to Sharm El Sheikh and from Shymkent to Sharm El Sheikh through Iranian airspace.
As well, the UAE Airlines - “Fly Dubai” (Dubai-Nur-Sultan - 5 flights/week, Dubai-Almaty - 7 flights/week), “Etihad” (Abu Dhabi-Nur-Sultan - 2 flights/week), “Air Arabia” (Sharjah-Almaty-5 flights/week) carry out regular flights (19 flights/week in total) through Iranian airspace to Kazakhstan. The Iranian airline Mahan Air operates regular flights on the route Tehran - Almaty.
