Kazakhstan's agricultural exports amounted to $ 2.5 bln
For 10 months this year, Kazakhstan sold agricultural products worth 2.5 billion US dollars to other countries, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan reported.
The exact volume of agricultural exports in January-October 2019 amounted to 2 billion 572.8 million US dollars or 9.8 million tons in physical terms. Compared to 2018, exports grew by 7.4%.
It is worth noting that a third of the total volume was the export of finished products processed from their own, “domestic” agricultural raw materials - 859.2 million US dollars (33.4%). Moreover, the sale of processed products in agriculture is growing steadily, only in October finished goods sold in the amount of102 million US dollars were sold abroad.
The largest share in the export of finished products processed from agricultural raw materials belongs to such groups of goods as flour (more than 30%) and vegetable oil (15%). Some of the best-selling include dairy products, pastries, chocolate, pasta and poultry.
At the same time, it must be emphasized that the provision of the Kazakhstani market with food products of domestic production is more than 80%. For some types of goods, Kazakhstan is 100% provided with local products. The exceptions are apples, fish, sausages, cheeses and cottage cheese, sugar and poultry, for which Kazakhstan is still dependent on imports.
