Kazakhstan marks Ecologist Day
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources has hosted a solemn event dedicated to the Ecologist Day and World Environment Day, Strategy2050.kz reports referring to the Ministry’s press service.
In his congratulatory speech Minister of Ecology Magzum Mirzagaliyev addressed the country's population pointing out at environmental friendliness, rational use of natural resources, preservation of unique species of flora and fauna, and the formation of an environmentally responsible consciousness.
“Main task of an ecologists is to preserve our Earth, to preserve its wealth and originality for our descendants. Caring for the environment is the duty of any resident of our independent state. I congratulate you on Ecologist Day and World Environment Day!”, the Minister said.
Head of the Department of the West Kazakhstan Regional Territorial Inspectorate for Fauna and Flora, Serik Mazhenov, was awarded with a letter of thanks from the Head of State for the contribution made to preserve the environment and to fight poaching.
Aliya Nazarbayeva, Chairwoman of the Association of Ecological Organizations of Kazakhstan Presidium, Zulfukhar Zholdassov, Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Regulation and Control, O. Kornyukhova, Director of the Department of Ecology at Kazhydromet, and D. Kalmykov, Director of the Department of the Karaganda Regional Ecological Museum were awarded with a badge for active and fruitful work in the sphere of environmental protection, high professional qualities and personal contribution to the preservation of the natural resources of Kazakhstan, the preservation and restoration of the environment, innovation and initiative, achievements in popularizing the environmental movement among the population.
Representatives of public organizations and eco-activists Solovyova A.S., Rakhimbekova S.T., Abakanov Ye.N., Sakhariyanova A. were awarded with diplomas and letters of appreciation.
“Dear colleagues, Ministry’s awards are received by people who daily make a certain contribution to the development of each industry, and therefore to the development of our state. It is gratifying that, along with us there are our dear veterans, who work tirelessly for the good of the country. And from year to year we have more and more such worthy examples of caring for the environment, and the award will always find its hero”, the Minister concluded.
